Besalu - Medieval Town with a Fascinating History
Besalu is one of those towns that demands attention! It's history stretches back to the 9th century having been reconquered from the Moors in 785. In the intervening time, the town has seen a chequered history with the Romans building their stunning L-shaped bridge over the River Fluvia to the present time when the only invasion that happens is the annual influx of benign tourists, only shooting the wonderful scenery with their cameras!
